Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):

Education 

Master educator with an MA in a relevant field (i.e. Curriculum studies, Curriculum & instruction, Educational Leadership or other relevant degree) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school educator/pedagogue/community educator

PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset

Experience 

Expert knowledge of:

Implications of intercultural/multicultural, global, environmental, and social justice and their impact on critical thinking

Critical pedagogy as well as its critiques 

Connections between pedagogy and student resistance

Critical considerations of education and the practice of teaching in the context of ongoing colonialism and calls for reconciliation and social justice

Trends in contemporary Canadian education in light of a critical pedagogy

Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level

Experience as a master teacher/instructor in the Quebec educational system, school administrator, institutional leader, and/or community leader with clear connections to critical pedagogy

Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’Éducation

Other 

Knowledge of the impact and proven record of integrating pedagogical approaches anchored in equity, diversity and inclusion.

Familiarity using myCourses, Zoom, and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences

Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset

Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital and pedagogical teaching and learning tools
