EDEA 206. 1st Year Professional Seminar:
This seminar along with First Field Experience (Music) serves as an orientation to the culture of the school and to teaching as a profession. Emphasis is on the general functioning of elementary and secondary schools. Topics include the role of the arts in the curriculum. Professional portfolios and professional competencies will be addressed.
EDEC 201. First Year Professional Seminar.
Orientation to the culture and community of school and to teaching as a profession. Focus on the general functioning of schools and complexity of the teacher role. Competencies and working professional portfolios will be addressed.
EDSL 210. First Professional Seminar.
How to observe in second language classrooms. Students will be introduced to ways of observing instructional practices and procedures and will begin to reflect on various interactional patterns between teachers and students as observed in the First Year Field Experience. Professional portfolios and professional competencies will be addressed.
