ANTH 207 - Ethnography through film
This course will investigate and discuss cultural systems, patterns, and differences, and the ways in which they are observed, visually represented, and communicated by anthropologists using film and video. The visual representation of cultures will be critically evaluated by asking questions about perspective, authenticity, ethnographic authority and ethics.
May 4 – June 4, 2026: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs (1:35 pm – 3:55 pm)

Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education: MFA or MA required; Priority to holders of MFA or PhDs with specialization in relevant areas.
Experience: Priority will be given to candidates with experience in teaching documentary and/or ethnographic filmmaking; priority will be given to candidates with prior filmmaking experience as demonstrated by dossier and film festival screenings, etc.
This course will be taught by one instructor in-person.
