About This Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Camp Director, you will be responsible for work as a team to help with day to day chores of running a site Monday through Friday.

 

Position Specifics

 

Responsibilities:


                         

Hours: Counsellors work as a team to help with the day-to-day chores of running a site. They help campers and the site volunteers to make their days memorable and a success Monday through Friday. The time slots are part of an overall day on the camp schedule. Therefore, they will have breaks and lunch slots at different times, depending on the day’s schedule. It is a great idea to sit with the volunteer guide on your site to discuss their needs of timing. Perhaps they will need you later in the morning with a few hours after supper for bedtime routine or for some they will prefer you to me on site during the day. This is a schedule that can be worked out with the guider(s) on site, yourself and the camp director.Meals: For breakfast and lunch, they often eat on their scheduled site for the week.   Suppers are usually a mix of taking turns at each site. It is a very fun time for the staff to interact with the campers. Rainy Days: This type of weather can either be fun or challenging. Please help everyone be prepared for their day.It is often the counsellor’s staff that is part of the weekly central campfire in combination with the waterfront and counsellors. This is once during the week when all campers gather together at the central campfire site for evening campfire.

 

 

General

 

Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.Apply organizational policies regarding diversity, inclusivity and equity to content, member communication and customer service.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

 

 

Be at least 18 years of age or provincial/territorial minimum age standard.Current Standard First Aid Must demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of all Safe Guide procedures and have a knowledge of Excel

 

Hourly Salary Range: $16.60

 

 

This position will remain open until filled. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.
