Job Description

The purpose of this position is to address legal matters within specific departments and subject matter areas while maintaining close communication with colleagues to ensure an integrated, consistent approach to legal services.

In this role you will:

Lead and manage certain litigation and pre-litigation matters across civil, commercial, employment, regulatory, and class action casesAssist with development and execution of litigation strategy in alignment with business priorities and risk tolerance Select, supervise, and manage outside counsel to ensure high-quality and cost-effective legal representationCollaborate with internal stakeholders to assess legal risk, develop case strategy, collect evidence, and prepare witnessesRepresent the company in settlement negotiations, mediations, trials, and arbitrationsOversee responses to subpoenas, government inquiries, and other document requestsAssist with maintenance of case tracking systems, litigation budgets, and legal holdsAdvise business units on dispute resolution strategies and help minimize exposure through proactive legal counselingSupport internal investigations and compliance review as neededContribute to company policies and procedures related to risk management, dispute resolution, and document retentionRequires practical knowledge of technical and/or operational problemsApplies operational business practices to improve efficiencyResponsible for providing guidance for colleagues with less experienceIdentifies and solves complex problemsExecutes objectives with impact on a range of activities within own teamExplains difficult or sensitive information to build consensus 

QualificationsJD Degree or equivalentMinimum 5 years experience Knowledge of general business and contract lawIntermediate Microsoft Office skillsPrior experience managing outside counsel and litigation budgetsStrong negotiation, writing, and analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, business-oriented environmentHigh integrity, sound judgement, and strong communication skills
