Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a Cost Lead to join our team.  This position can be located in several cities, including: San Diego, Tucson, and El Paso.

This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Skilled in the use of company cornerstone systems and able to represent cost data formats necessary to control the projectUnderstands financial terminology and measures and recognizes the financial impact of various project actionsParticipates in analyzing and using financial data to identify key project issuesMay assist in leading junior staff through assignment tasksParticipate in tracking action itemsAble to use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline dataKnowledgeable of accounting principles with extensive understanding of the manner in which the company establishes and documents the financial positionPrepares revised cost forecast for select accountsPrepares analysis of progress trends and cost impact. May participate in reviewing and approving contractor invoicesWorks hands on with earned value monitoringEvaluates manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations including preparation of variance analysisCompares actual cost to funding limitations. Prepare expenditure forecasts to identify critical points in project fundingReviews purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures. Maintains tracking database to ensure that subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expendituresUnderstands the way profits on projects are budgeted and the extent to which the budget value is achievedPossesses the knowledge of scope control and change management. Involved in the tracking system to ensure that project management is fully aware of detailed change order statusCreates and assists with cost/schedule baseline budgetsFamiliar with basic cost/schedule integration and basic critical path analysis and other rescheduling conceptsConducts or assists in performance measurement and associated cost trendingPrepares and assists in various levels of project reportingParticipates in and may lead project cost review meetingsAssists in procedure development and implementation

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationDue to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required 

Preferred Requirements

Experience with large, federal construction projectsExperience with purchase orders and subcontract commitments and expendituresPossesses a background in construction experience

Additional Information

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of an enhanced background investigation, which may include, but is not limited to, verification of employment and education, a criminal history review, drug screening, and a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check, as applicable.
