Cost Accountant
Description + Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to support accurate product costing + Review and reconcile inventory transactions, variances, and adjustments + Support month‑end close activities, including journal entries and cost‑related account reconciliations + Monitor standard costs and assist with updates as needed + Prepare cost reports and provide insights to operations and management + Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and related variance analysis + Identify cost drivers and support continuous improvement initiatives + Collaborate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to validate cost and inventory data + Provide ad‑hoc cost analysis during the assignment period Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred + 2–5 years of cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience + Strong understanding of standard costing, BOMs, and inventory accounting + Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems (experience in manufacturing environments strongly preferred) + Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and recommend solutions + Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment + Available to work on‑site in Rockwall for the full 3‑month duration Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
