Robert Half is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our client's team in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area. This Cost Accounting role is ideal for someone with a strong background in cost accounting and a proven ability to thrive in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will bring analytical expertise and familiarity with government contracting to support key financial processes. Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed cost analysis to support pricing strategies and financial decision-making. • Evaluate and maintain accurate standard and job costing systems. • Monitor inventory levels and perform thorough inventory analysis to ensure optimal operations. • Prepare and oversee budgets and forecasts to align with organizational goals and financial planning. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost efficiency and streamline processes. • Implement and maintain cost accounting procedures and policies for compliance. • Generate comprehensive reports on cost performance and present findings to management. • Assist with audits and ensure adherence to government contracting requirements. • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend actionable improvements. • Support the integration of new systems or processes related to cost accounting. Requirements • Proven experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in a manufacturing environment. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. • Familiarity with government contracting regulations and compliance. • Proficiency in cost accounting methods, including standard and job costing. • Knowledge of inventory analysis and control processes. • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams. • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and tools.
