Sportsman Boats is looking for a Cost Accountant to join the Accounting team!  This role will have responsibilities through the entire procure-to-pay process. This is a rare opportunity to gain experience with all facets of material workflow in a manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, excited to collaborate across departments, and not afraid to get their hands dirty when needed! What you will do: + Accounts Payable Management: + Process vendor invoices through optical character recognition. + Work to move invoices through the approval workflow. + Ensure timely and accurate payments while maximizing cash discounts. + Review vendor account statements to address payment issues. + Assist in responding to audit requests. + Credit Card Reconciliation: + Review and reconcile monthly credit card statements to the general ledger. + Maintain supporting documentation for all transactions. + Inventory Management and Cost Analysis: + Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to resolve receiving issues. + Assist in periodic cycle counts, and year end physical inventory. + Calculate inventory reserve and analyze for opportunities to reduce slow moving or excess inventory. + Research issues related to bill of materials inaccuracies and provide suggestions to Engineering. To be considered you must have: + Bachelor’s degree + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must to succeed in this role. + Xlookups, pivot tables, and if statements are used regularly. + Basic understanding of accounting principles. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
