Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant

Job Description

The Senior Cost Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing and analyzing financial data to determine costs associated with business activities, including raw material purchases, inventory, overhead, and labor costs.The role involves preparing periodic variance reports by comparing standard costs to actual production costs and managing fixed assets and standard monthly reports.This position supports all lines of business and requires close collaboration with various departments.

Responsibilities

Maintain the item cost data within the Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI) ERP software system.Update cost estimates for new and special products to establish selling prices and production forecasts.Maintain cost changes on all items and compile parts manufacturing costs for inventory accountability.Enter department labor and overhead rates annually in conjunction with the biannual cost roll.Maintain item product codes and associated markups for transfer and selling prices.Collaborate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering Departments to establish achievable standard costs.Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries, and analyze inventory valuation.Prepare fixed asset account reconciliations and maintain depreciation expenses.Develop and update Cost Accounting work instructions in compliance with ISO 9001 regulations.Coordinate with IT for system maintenance and support, and analyze cost accounting data.Review and analyze inventory and margin reports and perform analytical studies on cost analyses.Ensure timely submission and accuracy of inventory and gross margin schedules to management.Serve as a key resource for duty drawback projects and capture prototype costs for R&D.Perform ad hoc analyses and other tasks as requested by management.

Essential Skills

At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing background.Proficiency with CSI, Infor CloudSuite, and ERP systems.Strong technical skills in accounting and reconciliation of cost analysis.Ability to plan and manage multiple projects with attention to detail.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Degree in accounting preferred.Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Epicor, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.Planning and buying experience in a manufacturing setting is desirable.Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.

Work Environment

The role is 100% on-site, with working hours from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.The Senior Cost Accountant will be part of a small finance team, including the CFO, AP/AR, senior director, supervisor, and financial analyst, providing ample support.Benefits include paid time off, robust health benefits, employer-paid disability and life insurance, retirement contributions, tuition reimbursement, and more.Additional perks include electric vehicle charging stations, Verizon discounts, and identity theft protection insurance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
