Cost Accountant
Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

This role is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the standard costing and inventory systems to ensure accuracy in cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, and reporting. It supports month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. The position also assists in financial reviews for capital projects, tracks spending against budgets, and coordinates fixed asset inventories. Additional responsibilities include preparing financial control reports, supporting accounts payable and receivable issue resolution, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory turns and gross margin.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain and optimize standard costing and inventory systems.Ensure accuracy in cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, and reporting.Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.Assist in financial reviews for capital projects and track spending against budgets.Coordinate fixed asset inventories.Prepare financial control reports.Support accounts payable and receivable issue resolution.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory turns and gross margin.Support standard cost updates, inventory valuation, and annual re-costing processes.Conduct physical inventory audits and cycle count programs.Essential Skills3+ years of standard costing experience.3+ years of experience with reconciliations.3+ years of experience recording journal entries.3+ years of variance analysis experience.Experience working for a manufacturing company from 2023 or later.Ability to create pivot tables and Vlookups in Excel.Proficiency in a large-scale ERP such as SAP, Oracle, Info, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAGE, or Workday.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
