Job Description
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a standard cost accounting system. The role involves preparing journal entries, maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts, collecting data, allocating costs, and preparing reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly, or other operating expenses. Additionally, the accountant will prepare financial statements and variance reports as needed.
ResponsibilitiesReview standard material, labor, subcontract fees, and overhead costs.Prepare journal entries and reconcile inventories to the balance sheet.Analyze gross margin, cost of sales, inventory trends, turnover ratios, and production yield.Prepare audit schedules and footnote disclosures.Support business unit and manufacturing groups with cost, manufacturing, and inventory analysis.Assist in complying with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and internal control requirements.Work with manufacturing to plan and conduct physical inventories.Reconcile physical inventories to SAP systems for applicable locations.Validate vendor reconciliations performed by our logistics group and follow up as required.Understand and monitor inventory movements and their impact on the P&L.Validate GAAP and non-GAAP P&L results by performing detailed analysis of the cost of sales.Support product/customer margin analysis by reviewing, correcting, and reconciling SAP transactions.Support the analysis of variances incurred during production and purchasing activities.Ensure timely completion of month-end processes for the settlement of production orders.Support the maintenance of material cost updates, activity, and overhead rate updates.Support the process of updating standard costs for new parts and the annual cost roll.Essential SkillsExperience with SOX compliance.Proficiency in SAP.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.Strong skills in cost accounting, general ledger, and reconciliation.Experience with month-end processes and cost analysis.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in manufacturing environments.Experience in internal audit processes.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
