Description Robert Half is partnered with a sat growing Baton Rouge company in search of a detail-oriented Corporate Tax Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing tax compliance and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing sales tax, property tax, and corporate income tax, while demonstrating a proactive approach to audits and compliance improvement. Responsibilities: • Oversee sales tax processes, including reviewing account adjustments, preparing amended returns, and ensuring monthly reconciliations are accurate and complete. • Collaborate with accounts receivable to resolve sales tax discrepancies on customer invoices and maintain proper tax configurations. • Act as the primary liaison during external audits, managing deadlines, compiling necessary documentation, and minimizing audit exposure. • Conduct internal audits to ensure accurate tax applications, exemption certificates, and compliance with regulatory requirements. • Develop and implement corrective measures to address recurring tax issues and audit findings. • Manage business license registrations and renewals, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. • Prepare and report financial data for income, franchise, and property tax obligations. • Partner with other departments to improve tax-related processes and reduce risks. • Maintain organized records for business licenses and tax documentation to facilitate audits and reviews. • Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update procedures to ensure ongoing compliance. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced tax certifications preferred. • Proven experience in corporate tax management, including sales, property, and income tax. • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations. • Demonstrated ability to manage external and internal tax audits effectively. • Proficiency in analyzing and improving tax processes to ensure compliance and reduce risks. • Excellent organizational skills to manage deadlines, documentation, and multiple jurisdictions. • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough reconciliations and reviews. • Ability to collaborate across departments to address tax-related issues and implement solutions.
