A top-tier corporate legal team is seeking an M&A associate attorney with at least five years of experience in cross-border corporate transactions to join its New York office. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with partners on high-profile international deals, advising global clients on mergers, acquisitions, greenfield investments, and corporate structuring.
Key Responsibilities: Work on complex cross-border M&A and corporate transactions, with a particular focus on China-related matters Advise clients on greenfield investments, economic development projects, and private equity transactions Draft and negotiate transactional documents and manage deal execution Oversee due diligence and compliance matters related to international corporate transactions Collaborate with multinational corporations and investment entities on market-entry strategies Qualifications: Licensed to practice in New York (or equivalent U.S. jurisdictions) 5+ years of experience in corporate M&A, with an emphasis on cross-border transactions and Chinese investment matters Background at a large international law firm or top-tier Chinese law firm with an international focus Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English Strong drafting, analytical, and project management skills Experience working with PRC-based companies and U.S.-China corporate matters J.D. or LL.M. from a U.S. law school, with additional experience in PRC law a plus Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for New York applicants: $325,000 - $375,000, based on experience Option for a lower billable-hours track with proportional salary adjustment Comprehensive benefits, including: Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) retirement savings plan Paid parental leave (up to 15 weeks) Flexible time off and paid holidays Professional development and relocation assistance (where applicable)
