Key job responsibilities - Provide end-to-end legal support for Amazon's Core Selling Partner Experience team, focusing on the selling partner experience across various tools and experiences like Seller Central, Listings, Catalog Protection and Brand Registry. - Function as a primary legal advisor and strategic thought partner to business teams, offering intuitive support and proactive guidance. - Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with new features, products, and services related to the selling partner experience. - Influence and shape policies and seller experiences to empower small and medium-sized businesses on Amazon. - Take an integral role in developing, building, and managing new legal solutions that enable Amazon's sellers to connect with consumers and grow their businesses. - Educate and coach business clients on relevant regulations and laws impacting the selling partner ecosystem. - Coordinate and interact directly with cross-functional global legal and business teams within Amazon to deliver best-in-class legal support. - Stay up-to-date on evolving legal and regulatory requirements relevant to retail, e-commerce, and small business support. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of legal experience - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent - Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent Preferred Qualifications - Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work - A strong ability to rapidly onboard and integrate into new teams and workflows, demonstrating quick comprehension of complex business models and legal frameworks. This includes a familiarity with the Amazon seller experience, enabling immediate contribution. - Demonstrated skill in transforming conceptual ideas or broad tasks into concrete, structured implementation plans with clear steps, timelines, and deliverables. This encompasses the ability to apply high-level knowledge of emerging technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence, including large language models, to provide succinct analysis of involved legal issues in a fast-paced, frugal environment. - A willingness to learn and develop proficiency in common privacy-related issues, such as training, risk assessment, and collaborating effectively with privacy SMEs to resolve complex privacy issues, including those related to biometrics. - Willingness to learn new areas of law and business, coupled with a positive attitude towards, and even enjoyment of, contributing to potentially menial administrative tasks that are critical for maintaining organizational structure and efficiency. - Proven ability to independently manage and prioritize a high volume of complex legal tasks, ensuring timely completion and meticulous organization. This includes experience counseling business partners and overseeing outside counsel support. - Exceptional creativity, coupled with a meticulous attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to customer service. - Strong analytical skills with a clear ability to systematically break down and resolve complex legal and business issues. - Adeptness at translating intricate commercial and litigation issues into clear, actionable insights for diverse teams, including creative, technology, business, management, and other legal teams. - Demonstrated capability to effectively coordinate international regional counsel, acting as a central intake point for business issues with global implications and ensuring systematic follow-through. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
