Job Title: Corn Sorter

Job Description

The role involves monitoring a conveyor system to ensure that all corn that passes through is viable. If any corn appears discolored, rotten, or is of a different crop, it should be removed and discarded. Corn with husks should be sent for re-working. This job requires standing for prolonged periods and the ability to walk up and down stairs. Please note that the environment is not temperature-controlled and may be dusty due to corn and insecticides.

Responsibilities

Monitor conveyor belt to ensure only viable corn is processed.Remove discolored, rotten, or incorrect crops.Pull and send husked corn for re-work.Stand for extended periods and walk up and down stairs.Adhere to strict tobacco-free policy at the worksite.

Essential Skills

Ability to stand for long periods.Capability to climb stairs occasionally.Must not be colorblind.Proficiency in speaking and reading English.

Work Environment

The work involves both seated and standing tasks. The sorting area is air-conditioned, although the overall environment is not temperature-controlled. Employees should wear closed-toed shoes, work pants or jeans, and a t-shirt. The site is strictly tobacco-free. Shifts are 12 hours long, with a weekly schedule of 48 to 60 hours, depending on staffing levels. Employees are expected to be available all 7 days, with rotating days off.

This is a Contract position based out of Tipton, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
