Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, service-oriented Copy Center Associate to join our team. This multifaceted role supports the full spectrum of copy center operations-including frontline customer service, machine operation, and bindery/finishing services.

Responsibilities*

Customer Service Representative (50%)

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers via email, phone, and in personAssess customer needs, answer questions regarding services, provide cost/time estimates, and ensure high levels of satisfactionProcess copy/print orders and troubleshoot basic customer inquiriesCollaborate with other staff to coordinate order fulfillment


Machine Operator (25%)

Prepare, set up, and operate high-speed copiers, printers, and reproduction equipmentAdjust machine settings, monitor print quality, and troubleshoot equipment issuesComplete print jobs efficiently and according to specificationsPerform basic machine maintenance as needed


Bindery/Finishing (25%)

Operate bindery equipment (binder, folder, cutter, collator, laminator) to finish printed materialsInspect finished items for quality assurancePackage finished orders for delivery or pickupAssist with routine equipment maintenance and supply inventoryRequired Qualifications*Strong customer service and communication skillsDemonstrated organizational ability and attention to detailMechanical aptitude and capacity to learn and operate standard copy center equipmentAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentManual dexterity and capacity for repetitive motionHigh school diploma or equivalent
 Desired Qualifications*Previous experience in a print/copy center environmentFamiliarity with high-speed copiers, printers, and bindery equipmentExperience with order management/tracking systemsModes of Work

The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.

Additional Information

Work Environment:

Position requires frequent standing, lifting and handling of print materials and supplies.

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday 7:30-4:00
