Job Description
The Technical Training Curriculum Development Lead will manage technical training for dealership technicians through various formats, including eLearning, distance learning, and in-person classroom environments. Following instructional design methodologies, you will ensure comprehensive training by introducing necessary materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles. Your role involves developing and maintaining curriculum, managing multiple projects, and supporting training development suppliers with data-driven needs analysis. You will coordinate the authoring of new and updated training course content, develop training aids, and manage logistics for training aids and resources across North American Training Centers.
ResponsibilitiesManage technical training for dealership technicians via eLearning, distance learning, or in-person classroom environments.Ensure the necessary materials, tools, equipment, and vehicles are introduced into training courses.Develop and maintain assigned curriculum while managing multiple concurrent projects.Support training development supplier with data-driven, needs-based front-end analysis.Coordinate the authoring of new and updated training course content to ensure technical accuracy.Develop training aids prototypes for classroom use.Coordinate build, shipment, and storage of course-related training aids and resources.Forecast and manage spending to the approved budget for future training courses.Coordinate vehicle availability at North American Training Centers and conduct vehicle change-outs.Conduct pilot course sessions and implement changes to improve training quality.Direct online publishing of eLearning materials to the dealership technician portal.Essential SkillsAutomotive expertise with a deep understanding of automotive technology, systems, and diagnostics.Several years of experience as an automotive technician.Experience in developing and delivering technical training programs.A thorough understanding of all vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, and braking.Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.Organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, instructors, and stakeholders.Additional Skills & QualificationsComfortable using computers, software applications like Microsoft Office Suite, and learning management systems (LMS).Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certifications.Technical writing skills for creating clear and accurate documentation.Familiarity with curriculum development software and e-learning platforms.Work Environment
This role is based in a hybrid work environment, combining remote work and on-site presence at North American Training Centers. The role involves coordination and management of various training logistics and resources.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
