Touro University is seeking a Coordinator of Career Advancement to support the establishment of a career development model to enhance the enrollment, retention, and graduation of students at NYSCAS. The Coordinator of Career Advancement will report to the Director of the Office of Student Success.

Responsibilities

As a founding staff member of the Office of Student Success, the Coordinator of Career Advancement will play a key role in building the systems needed to launch and maintain a career development model. If you enjoy envisioning new realities while simultaneously designing changes to practices that take us one step closer, this is the job for you. As the Coordinator of Career Advancement, you will spearhead the vision setting process for establishing a career development model at Touro University. Using this model, you will lead the use of embedded practices that support a more effective career development trajectory for students and alumni. While this includes many different responsibilities, they key functions of the Coordinator of Career Advancement role include:

Establishing an InfrastructureRefine the proposed vision for the career development model at Touro UniversityEngage in ongoing cross-functional meetings at Touro University to establish a shared understanding and purpose of career developmentContinually grow knowledge of the professional field that the career development model is rooted inCoordinate with University stakeholders to identify programs to expand and individuals who may be interested in naming opportunities around the expansionOngoing ImplementationSupport the development of two service learning courses, including identifying employers to provide work-based opportunities for students in the coursesFacilitate the placement of students in their program's required fieldwork and organize the supervision of the fieldworkIncrease outreach to community employers to build and strengthen employer partnerships that both employ Touro graduates and provide incoming students to Touro for trainingIncrease outreach to alumni and local business partners by planning and distributing ongoing communications to strengthen involvement and philanthropic supportHost at least 2-3 alumni events per year to engage both alumni and current students in developments in their respective fieldsCareer Development Model OversightPromote the career development model to 100% of students and ensure that at least 50% participate in one or more elements of the modelCollect and monitor an ongoing list of alumni contact informationSet benchmarks for assessing progress and use proven strategies to collect data on the career development modelMaintain quantitative and qualitative data on mentoring effectiveness and use the data to drive continual improvementPrepare communications for the Director related to career development model data collection Qualifications Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree requiredMaster's or doctoral degree preferredAt least five years of prior relevant experienceKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesExcellent project management and organizational skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, especially as related to networkingAbility to think outside of the box and propose innovative solutions to long-standing challengesInterest and proven skills in event planningAbility to take initiative and to work independentlyProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & OutlookTravelSome travel may be requiredSalarySalary range begins at $65,000/year Maximum Salary USD $70,000.00/Yr.
