Coordinator for Global Initiatives--Metro/Florham
Job Summary: Reporting to the University Director of Global Education, with secondary reporting to the University Director of International Enrollment, the Coordinator for Global Initiatives works with various FDU constituencies, including students, faculty and staff, as well as external partners, including foreign higher education institutions, international high schools, and education service providers, to deliver global education and income-generating programs. The Coordinator for Global Initiatives has broad operational responsibility for global learning activities and partnership programs delivered on-campus, on-line, and off-campus. including student programs, transfer programs, school of record programs, and short-term programs (both international and domestic) for partners. The incumbent is responsible for managing and tracking operational budgets with income and expenditures, marketing materials and communications, assessment/evaluation methods for each program, coordinating logistics for each event as required. The Coordinator for Global Initiatives supports the University Director of International Enrollment with processing payments related to joint programs with international partner institutions, as necessary. Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree required in a related field of study; Master’s Degree preferred. 2. A minimum of 3 years’ administrative experience required, preferably in an academic or multicultural environment, including office management and budget responsibilities and interfacing with multiple organizational units. 3. Fluency in a second language such as Spanish, Korean, or Mandarin, strongly preferred. 4. Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills, including intercultural skills and the ability to communicate with diverse international populations. Strong team building and networking skills. Ability to interact positively with students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, foreign visitors, and the community. 5. Demonstrated success managing program and event budgets. 6. Knowledge and understanding of event planning within an academic institution. 7. Demonstrated ability to coordinate special projects and events. 8. Strong problem-solving ability. Well organized, independent, and collaborative in carrying out responsibilities. 9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to compile data accurately, prioritize, coordinate several events simultaneously, and meet deadlines. 10. Proficiency with computer systems for word processing, spreadsheet, data management, and basic graphic design. 11. Willingness and ability to work nonstandard hours, including some evening and weekend hours, as needed. This will include the summer period, when weekends and residential overnights may be required for group programs. 12. Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information. 13. Valid driver’s license and accessibility to a car for travel between campuses in New Jersey and locally. 14. Valid passport and availability for occasional international travel. 15. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card or valid authorization to work in the United States.
