The position involves working at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital in the kitchen, where you will be responsible for cooking high volume foods safely. The kitchen program is run by Sodexo with a cook/serve program, meaning all food is cooked fresh, not frozen. You will need to have experience in measuring and following recipes, as you will be preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner during your shift, along with performing prep work in between.
ResponsibilitiesCook and prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner during shifts.Ensure safe cooking practices for high volume food preparation.Measure and follow recipes accurately.Operate grill, flat top, and deep fryer for various food items including eggs, burgers, hot dogs, and Philly Cheese Steaks.Perform food prep and provide assistance in deli areas.
Essential SkillsExperience in food prep and cooking.Proficiency in using grill, flat top, and deep fryer.Hospitality and customer service experience.Ability to follow recipes and measure ingredients accurately.Volume cooking experience.
Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with batch and scratch cooking from fresh foods.Familiarity with prep and deli areas.Food Safe Serve Qualified/ServSafe Certification is preferred but not required.

Pay and Benefits
