Job Description

Prepare and cook foods according to recipes, ensuring they are ready in time to meet serving schedules. Responsibilities include making sauces, braising meats, chopping, and slicing vegetables. Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures, portioned correctly, and displayed attractively for customers. Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and orderliness while following food safety regulations.

ResponsibilitiesCook and prepare foods according to recipes.Make sauces, braise meats, and chop vegetables.Ensure food is cooked to proper temperatures and nicely displayed.Assist in kitchen duties as needed.Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen.Answer customer questions and provide information.Follow food safety regulations consistently.Wrap, date-label, and store food items.Clean and organize work areas, equipment, utensils, and service stations.Prepare menu items following established recipes.Ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control.Serve facility staff/students in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner.Provide customers with information regarding food ingredients, availability, and pricing.Escalate customer concerns and complaints to management.Comply with relevant safety, hygiene, and service standards.Essential SkillsExperience in food service and cooking.Knowledge of food safety regulations.Customer service proficiency.Food preparation skills.Ability to cook chicken to 165 degrees.Ability to make sauces and braise meats.Additional Skills & Qualifications6+ months of food service/industry experience preferred.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Attention to detail.Reliability and great attendance.Presentable with a good attitude.Availability to work shifts and extended hours.Why Work Here?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hamilton, New York

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
