We are currently hiring a Controls Validation Engineer to join our Controls Test and Validation team at Trane Technologies. This role is a dynamic and integral part of our team, driving the creation of cutting-edge software solutions that meet customer needs and tackle real-world challenges. Where is the work:

From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires. 

 

What you will do:

Utilize software development interfaces such as Ruby, Python, Linux, JavaScript, React, or other embedded software, wireless, web design and user interfaces.

Be responsible for developing structured and verified software test and validation cases to meet customer needs and solve real-world problems while collaborating with other software, hardware, control algorithm, and project engineers as well as with our technical support, development, and product teams to develop software solutions used in the control of systems and products.

Support the inception phase of projects, including requirement analysis, suggesting methodologies and technologies, and release planning. Design, implement, verify, and support UI web-based solutions and applications. Influence and strengthen the development culture of the team and anticipate possible design weaknesses and failure modes and develop design validation plans to mitigate risk.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members. Participate in problem solving such as code reviews, design discussions, and other team activities. Continuously improve the software development process and practices. Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Communicate clearly and concisely in an authentic and persuasive manner to strike a chord with the stakeholders, inspire their engagement and commitment, and compel action via multiple channels (verbal, electronic, presentations) across multiple functions and audiences.

 

What you will bring:

Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a technical engineering discipline.

2+ years Software Test and Validation experience in an agile or waterfall development environment.

Proficiency using Python, HPE, Java, Telematics testing interfaces

Basic knowledge of software engineering principles.

 

Compensation: 

Pay Range: $88,000 – 110,000
