Controls Technician
Job Title: Controls TechnicianJob Description

As a Controls Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial controls equipment. You will provide electrical and controls support for production operations and maintenance departments, ensuring that plant automated equipment, robots, PLCs, and process control equipment are functioning as designed. Your expertise will help resolve control and electrical issues related to equipment downtime, throughput improvement, and safety concerns.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain and troubleshoot industrial controls equipment.Provide electrical and controls support for production operations and maintenance departments.Ensure plant automated equipment, robots, PLCs, and process control equipment are functioning as required.Implement minor PLC and HMI software changes, including improvements and troubleshooting.Collaborate with production, maintenance supervisors, operators, vendors, and service providers for troubleshooting assistance and improvements.Follow all Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.Work with Engineers and Technicians on new automated process equipment for deployment into production.Collaborate with engineers to layout and fabricate machine control panels.Essential SkillsPLC Programming and TroubleshootingStrong understanding of electrical and control systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and blueprintsProblem-solving skillsAttention to detail in testing and troubleshooting equipmentRecording data and documenting proceduresAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in control panel fabrication and modificationExperience in sensor integrationMinimum of an associate degree, Certification in Automation, Journeyman Electrician, or significant controls experience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentProficiency in Siemens TIA-Portal and Rockwell RSStudioRobotics experience (Preferred) - FANUCWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

You will work in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Weirton, WV. The facility is climate-controlled, well-lit, and very clean, providing a comfortable and conducive work environment. Third shift positions are available from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

This is a Contract position based out of Weirton, WV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
