Controls Technician
Job Title: Controls Technician

We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and wiring controllers and field devices, coordinating installations, and ensuring the seamless operation of HVAC control systems. The role involves planning site activities, leading installation teams, and supporting the development and execution of additional services. This position requires a proactive individual who can work autonomously with high-level instructions and effectively communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Install and wire controllers and field devices, including low voltage cable terminations.Coordinate installation of HVAC Controls Systems.Plan site activities, organize job site materials, logistics, inventory, tools storage, and ensure security/access.Lead daily and weekly installation team meetings.Support the development and execution of additional services through change orders.Cutover panels and systems in retrofit projects.Develop and implement Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for site activities.Provide input to project team on developing RFIs, estimating, and takeoffs for proposals.Perform commissioning-focused design reviews, prepare test procedures and reports, and oversee on-site testing.Assist with pre-functional and functional testing alongside software lead.Troubleshoot systems and execute corrective actions.Participate in commissioning efforts with external stakeholders.Analyze system operations, work with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work.Perform QA/QC of systems using appropriate software tools.Provide installation inspections and other closeout duties to ensure customer acceptance.Document as-built conditions and provide markups for shop drawings.Regularly communicate with subcontractors, project managers, clients, and commissioning agents on project progress.Document and track issues and out-of-scope efforts.Discuss technical support problems related to maintenance or operation of equipment.Attend project bid walks, engineering surveys, and audits.Optimize workflow and deliverables by developing templates, standards, and automations.Assist in developing project communication and reporting, including weekly progress reports.

Essential Skills

Experience in control systems, troubleshooting, and building automation systems.Proficiency with Niagara AX, HVAC control, and electrical systems.3-8+ years of experience with BMS/Controls.Experience with systems such as JCI, Metasys, Siemens, Honeywell, Automated Logic is a plus.Knowledge of equipment manufacturer's specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Niagara AX certified.PLC/ALC experience.Experience with critical HVAC equipment such as chillers, air handlers, CRAC/CRAH units, boilers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
