Our client, a large-scale commercial bakery producing snack foods is seeking a Controls Technician to join their team. As a Controls Technician you are a part of the engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and updating various controls and control systems for industrial manufacturing equipment. Allen Bradley equipment experience is a must. This is a direct hire status position located on the South Side of Chicago, IL and it is a 2 nd shift role. **Job Title:** Controls Technician **Location: Chicago, IL** **Pay:** $36-$40/hr. plus OT, benefits **Key Responsibilities** + Diagnose, plan, & perform all operations necessary to modify, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, rebuild, & dismantle various types of complex manufacturing & support equipment with special focus on advanced troubleshooting on control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, & PLCs on complex high-speed process and packaging lines + Perform preventive maintenance & other proactive activities to monitor & maintain equipment condition. + Troubleshoot and repair of Pneumatic Control Systems, Allen Bradley PLC Systems, RSLinx, Process Control Instrumentation, 3 phase (480V) Circuits, Motor starters and controls. · Read, restore, and modify Allen Bradley (Control Logix, Compact Logix) PLC programs and via multiple communication protocols (serial, DH485, DH+, E-net, C-net, D-net, RS-485, RS-232, etc.). · Read, interpret, and update electrical blueprints, schematics, and flow diagrams. **Requirements** + Associates/bachelor’s degree, relevant certification, OR 2-3 years Electro/Mechanical experience in an automated manufacturing environment. + At least 1 year of experience in troubleshooting and repair of Pneumatic Control Systems, Allen Bradley PLC Systems, RS Logix RSLinx, Process Control Instrumentation, 3 phase (480V) Circuits, Motor starters and controls and electronic circuit boards preferred. + Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly.
