Controls Technician
**Travel Controls Technician** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to install, commission, and maintain conveyor systems. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards while collaborating with internal teams to achieve project success. **Responsibilities** + Install and commission conveyor equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical components. + Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. + Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems. + Communicate project status, risks, and issues to the project manager and internal teams. + Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, sales, and customer service to ensure project success. + Maintain accurate project documentation and reports. + Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. + **Must have conveyer experience** **Essential Skills** + Pre-commissioning and commissioning experience in conveyor systems. + Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and installation. + Experience with Allen Bradley PLC and Rockwell Automation. + Experience in field service and construction, with a focus on electrical systems. + Knowledge of mechanical and electrical installation in the conveyor industry. + Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. + Ability to work independently and in a team environment. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Willingness to travel 100% and be on the road for 30-60 days at a time. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent required, technical degree preferred. + 3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical installation. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. + Technical ability to use a mobile device such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop. + Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in a field installation environment. + Experience with basic hand and power tools. + Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. + Fluency in reading and writing English; understanding of Spanish is a plus. **Why Work Here?** Join a family-owned company with over 100 years of history, offering long-term career opportunities. Candidates will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, work with multi hand and power tools, and must adhere to safety standards per OSHA requirements. The position requires the physical ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and handle items weighing at least 50 lbs. Use of ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts may be required. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Clinton, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
