Job Title: Controls Systems EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Controls Systems Engineer who will execute automation commissioning and validation protocols to ensure seamless operations. You will troubleshoot and address commissioning and validation non-conformances, working collaboratively with internal engineers and clients to deliver state-of-the-art control systems. This role is pivotal in improving efficiency, product quality, and profitability in process manufacturing, requiring you to define and implement programmable logic controller (PLC) configurations and oversee the testing, on-site commissioning, and qualification of control systems.

ResponsibilitiesExecute automation commissioning and validation protocols.Troubleshoot and remediate commissioning and validation non-conformances.Collaborate with internal engineers and clients to provide advanced control systems.Define and implement PLC configurations.Conduct testing and on-site commissioning and qualification of control systems.Essential SkillsPLC programming and automation expertise.Experience with PLC-based control systems.Proficiency in process documentation.Site, material, and equipment management skills.Ability to assemble automated equipment.Experience in safety analysis and documentation.Familiarity with Rockwell and Studio 5000.Equipment repair and installation.Additional Skills & Qualifications3+ years of hands-on experience with troubleshooting PLCs (Rockwell preferred).3+ years of GMP/Pharma/industrial/data environment work experience.3+ years of integrating equipment, commissioning, and troubleshooting.3+ years of exposure to safety protocols on construction/project sites.Experience with BACnet and LON controllers, Eclypse Controllers.Knowledge of Johnson Controls Facility Explorer or Metasys controllers.Familiarity with Tridium Niagara N4.Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as VBA and Python.Knowledge of Kepware OPC server, ThinManager, VMware preferred.Experience with HVAC systems in large automation environments.Work Environment

Candidates must be willing to travel full-time to locations such as Arizona, Dallas, Nevada, Salt Lake City, or Oregon. The role involves 30%-50% travel, primarily in Texas in 2026, focusing on data centers and life sciences/power utilities projects. The environment includes working on power monitoring systems and building management, with a focus on large mechanical and electrical buildings integrating them into common network/control systems. The position offers long-term opportunities with travel benefits, bonuses, and additional pay for extended hours on-site. Per diem and mileage are covered for travel outside specific locations, with provided housing and car rental for certain projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
