The Electrical Machine Design Engineer will be tasked with designing, programming, debugging, and supporting automated systems and automation equipment for production. The engineer will provide electrical design input and assist in concept and development efforts within the facility, covering infrastructure, programming, or design. The role demands extensive skills in PLC, Robot, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and electrical controls. The candidate will offer troubleshooting assistance on electrical and controls equipment to resolve issues and gather data.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, program, debug, and support automated systems and automation equipment for production.Provide electrical design input and assist in concept and development efforts within the facility.Collaborate with team members, including management, machine operators, supervisors, and other engineers.Troubleshoot electrical and controls equipment to resolve issues and gather data.Set standards for new control equipment and transition new technologies into the business framework.Drive continuous improvement and enhance project management skills.Essential SkillsExtensive skills in PLC, Robot, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and electrical controls.Experience in electrical design and AutoCAD electrical.Proficiency in machine design, PLC programming, and project management.5+ years of experience as a controls engineer or in a related role.Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electrical Technology, or Mechatronics. An associate degree in an engineering field with relevant experience is also acceptable.Analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsFormal training or extensive experience with PLCs (including OMRON CJ & NJ) and Robot (RC8).Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in an office setting in Maryville, with minimal travel to other plants in the southern sub-region. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
