Controls Engineer
Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

This position involves working on a project at a large Life Science Manufacturer in Rockville, VA. The role requires leading the project and the team technically, focusing on design and configuration for the initial six months, followed by commissioning activities. The objective is to deliver state-of-the-art Control Systems to enhance efficiency, product quality, and profitability in process manufacturing.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with engineers, designers, partners, and clients to develop advanced Control Systems.Create Life Cycle documents, Electrical panels, Control Architecture, and wiring drawings according to GMP standards.Redline P&ID documentation.Define and implement configurations for distributed control systems (DCS).Conduct testing and on-site commissioning and qualification of control systems.Lead teams of engineers and technicians to deliver control system solutions.Mentor less experienced engineers to enhance their skills.Develop engineering standards to improve project execution efficiency and accuracy.Provide technical sales support to the business development team.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.Experience in life sciences or chemical industries with batch processing experience.Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV.Proficiency in control system design and coding.Ability to technically lead a team.Strong self-motivation, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with chemical processes and DCS systems.Capability to work directly with end clients.Proficiency with platforms such as Microsoft Windows and Emerson DeltaV.Work Environment

The position is hybrid, requiring travel to the client site in Rockville a few times a week or visits to the Manassas site as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manassas, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $145000.00/hr.
