Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
Seeking a Controls Engineer specializing in automation for a contract position for permanent hire. The role involves supporting internal equipment that is later installed and commissioned at various sites. The position requires at least one year of experience in Controls Engineering, specifically with custom automated equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Support and troubleshoot internal equipment on a regular basis.
+ Program PLCs using Siemens and/or Rockwell Automation systems.
+ Develop HMI interfaces and SCADA systems, primarily using WinCC and Ignition.
+ Design and understand electrical schematics, with exposure to AutoCAD Electrical being beneficial.
+ Program robotics, specifically using Fanuc systems.
+ Travel up to 25% for installation and commissioning at various sites.
Essential Skills
+ 1+ years of experience in Controls Engineering for custom automated equipment.
+ Proficiency in PLC programming, especially Siemens PLCs.
+ Experience with robotics programming, particularly Fanuc.
+ Familiarity with industrial networking protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet I/P, EtherCAT.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls and Computer Control Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with HMI/SCADA development (WinCC and Ignition).
+ Understanding of controls hardware including sensors, remote IO, servos, VFDs, machine vision, and barcode readers.
+ Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical for schematic design.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $75.00/hr.
