Controls Engineer

Job Description: Controls Engineer

As a Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing electrical control systems for both new and existing manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed documentation, programming various control equipment, and ensuring systems are user-friendly and safe.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical control systems for manufacturing equipment.Create and maintain detailed documentation such as circuit diagrams, parts specifications, BOMs, manuals, and risk assessments.Program PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, and related control equipment.Assemble and test prototype machinery and assist with production equipment wiring.Program, integrate, and debug high-speed vision systems.Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues for assembly and production teams.Support equipment startup, testing, and validation to ensure safety, functionality, and reliability.Develop user-friendly and safe control system designs for plant equipment.Maintain engineering documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.5 years or more of experience designing or implementing complex electrical systems for industrial or commercial applications.Coursework in analog and digital circuit design, control systems, and power analysis.Experience with SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.Hands-on wiring and assembly skills.Strong communication skills with cross-functional teams.Knowledge of small microprocessor systems and control architecture.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in PLC programming, automation, and controls engineering.Experience with AutoCAD and Rockwell software.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Waukegan, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
