Controls Engineer
Job Description A large company that specializes in industrial automation is seeking a Controls Engineer to join a small, innovative team focused on validating new automated equipment concepts and developing early‑stage electromechanical prototypes. Utilizing market research and product development you will be expected to outline technical feasibility in support or opposition of the new ideas and technologies. You will operate in a highly collaborative environment that involves setting up, running, and documenting tests to evaluate concepts, developing control system architecture including PLC programming, building specialized test equipment, and communicating daily with cross-functional teams. Compensation: $90,000 to $125,000 per year annual salary (+ bonuses). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Skills and Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering preferred) - 6 years of combined experience in controls engineering, product development, and machine design - Strong hands-on experience with major PLC platforms such as Rockwell, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, etc. - Hands-on experience in industrial automation hardware and software - Willingness to travel 15-20% of the time, nationwide - A background in material handling - Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational and time management skills - Experience in Inventor 3D, AutoCAD 3D, and or Creo View.
