Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for resolving data issues within the SCADA domain, diagnosing and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley 5000 PLC problems, and collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to address root-cause issues, reduce downtime, and improve safety. You will design, select, manage, program, and commission automation equipment to enhance existing systems, which includes PLC programming and interfacing with HMI, MES, and SQL database systems. Additionally, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation. Responsibilities + Resolve data issues within the SCADA domain. + Diagnose and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley 5000 PLC problems. + Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to address root-cause issues and improve safety. + Design, select, manage, program, and commission automation equipment. + Program and interface with HMI, MES, and SQL database systems. + Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation. Essential Skills + 4+ years of controls engineering experience. + Knowledge of electrical standards such as NFPA79, National Electric Code, UL508A. + Understanding of safety standards including ANSI B11/RIA 15, OSHA. + Proficiency with AB 5000. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or equivalent experience. + Experience with Rockwell data integration and Rockwell drives. + Demonstrated experience in full-cycle project management of CapEx projects. + Knowledge of Siemens PLCs. + Proficiency in programming and tuning variable frequency drives (VFDs). + Experience in a heavy industrial environment. + Knowledge of Industrial Ethernet networks, Wireless Networks, and field bus networking. + Experience with motion control systems, including motors, drives, and encoders. + Understanding of cyber-security protocols to ensure system security. Work Environment This is a hybrid role with two days onsite and three days remote each week. The schedule is flexible, and the days onsite do not need to be consecutive. The role focuses on task-based work rather than reactive responsibilities. The technology stack is primarily composed of approximately 95% Allen-Bradley and 5% Siemens systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Risingsun, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $60.00/hr.
