We are seeking a Controls Engineers to support the launch and commissioning of next-generation CNC manufacturing equipment at a high-volume powertrain manufacturing facility.
This role blends technical controls engineering with oversight of equipment vendors (OEMs). While the primary responsibility is coordinating and managing OEM activity during installation and launch, the successful candidate must also have the technical depth to step in and support troubleshooting and
commissioning efforts as needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee equipment OEMs during installation, commissioning, and startup of new CNC production linesServe as the primary on-site technical point of contact during equipment launchesSupport commissioning of multiple manufacturing lines, including block, head, and crank machining linesTroubleshoot PLC, CNC, and controls-related issues during startup and ramp-upEnsure equipment is released to production safely, on schedule, and to performance expectationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support launch execution and production readinessTrack launch activities and escalate technical risks as requiredTechnical EnvironmentCNC machining lines supporting engine and engine-component manufacturingSiemens PLC-based systemsCNC platforms including Siemens Sinumerik and FANUCRequired QualificationsHands-on experience with Siemens PLCsStrong background supporting CNC-controlled manufacturing equipmentExperience with FANUC CNC controlsFamiliarity with Siemens Sinumerik CNC systemsAbility to manage OEM relationships while providing technical oversightExperience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, or production launchesAbility to work on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentTop SkillsSiemens PLCCNC ControlsFANUC Control SystemsPreferred QualificationsPrior experience supporting new line or equipment launchesStrong communication and coordination skillsAbility to work independently and take ownership during critical launch phasesJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
