Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description We are seeking a talented Controls Engineer to design, develop, install, and support industrial control systems and Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications in industrial and manufacturing environments. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, creativity, and strong communication skills to interact with customers and panel builders effectively. Responsibilities + Design and develop control system architecture and HMI applications. + Install and support industrial control systems. + Read and interpret P&ID drawings and electrical schematics. + Program Rockwell PLCs from scratch and develop FactoryTalk View ME applications. + Troubleshoot and modify existing control systems and HMIs. + Interface directly with customers and panel builders. + Support the Engineering and Electrical Panel team by providing necessary specs and logistics. Essential Skills + Relevant Degree in EMET, EE, EET, Automation Technology, or related fields. + Proven experience with control system design. + Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and specifically Rockwell products such as Allen Bradley PLC, HMI, and FactoryTalk SCADA/MES. + Ability to program Rockwell PLCs from scratch. + Experience developing FactoryTalk View ME applications from scratch. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with production equipment or lines, beyond academic or lab projects. + Strong troubleshooting skills. + Competence in creating and editing HMI applications. + Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&ID drawings. Work Environment This position is based in a laid-back engineering office environment where you'll primarily work with the Engineering and Electrical Assembly staff. The dress code is business casual, such as nice slacks and a golf polo. The role involves some local travel, primarily day trips, and requires regular interfacing with electricians and panel builders in the shop. The position offers autonomy in control panel design and a contract-to-hire opportunity with exposure to multiple engineering companies.
