Job Title: Controls & Automation EngineerJob Description We are seeking a skilled Controls & Automation Engineer to work on BACO controls, with a focus on commissioning and supporting field operations. You will be closely involved with test cell and production activities, ensuring successful acceptance tests of units. Your role includes software loading, calibration, and updates, as well as working on the production floor with power electronics cabinets. You will conduct inspections to ensure proper assembly and functionality of hardware and check electronic components while maintaining detailed documentation and work processes. Responsibilities + Work on BACO controls and assist in commissioning units. + Collaborate closely with test cell and production teams. + Perform day-to-day activities for acceptance tests of units. + Load, calibrate, and update software as necessary. + Conduct inspections of power electronics cabinets to ensure proper assembly and hardware functionality. + Check electronic components and operate test equipment. + Prepare work orders and document work processes. + Identify corrective actions and perform logical troubleshooting. + Understand instrumentation and ensure accurate signal reflection in code. Essential Skills + 5+ years of controls engineering experience. + Proficiency in Allen-Bradley controls engineering and PLC programming. + Experience with HMI for turbine operations. + Turbine product and power generation experience. + Experience with BACO controls and C++ programming. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Troubleshooting capabilities. + Experience in field operations. + Familiarity with power generation, generation regulators, and Siemens control systems. + Experience with firmware programming. Work Environment The position is based in an office located in Katy, TX, with at least one monthly travel to job sites for commissioning and field support. The work schedule is flexible, typically Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The company offers a growing engineering team and is transitioning operations from Finland to the US. The role includes a 12-month contract-to-hire with 2 weeks of PTO and vacation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Katy, TX.
