Position Summary
The Controller oversees plant accounting, product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. This role leads the monthly close, ensures GAAP compliance and strong internal controls, and provides insights to improve margins, productivity, and working capital.
Key Responsibilities
* Own month-end/year-end close for the plant; ensure accurate COGS, inventory, and variances.
* Maintain cost accounting (standards, BOMs/routings, overhead rates) and perform cost rolls.
* Reconcile inventory; lead cycle counts/physicals and resolve discrepancies.
* Analyze PPV, labor/overhead variances, yield/scrap; recommend corrective actions.
* Support budgets/forecasts, product profitability, and pricing/margin analysis.
* Partner with Operations/Supply Chain on KPI tracking and cost savings; coordinate audits and control documentation.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance; CPA or CMA preferred.
* 5-7+ years in accounting/finance with manufacturing cost accounting experience.
* Strong GAAP, inventory, and variance analysis expertise.
* Proficient with ERP/MRP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, NetSuite) and advanced Excel; BI tools a plus.
* Detail-oriented, organized, effective communicator; strong cross-functional partnering.
* Experience with internal controls; SOX exposure a plus.
