Controller
Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee all financial operations within our foodservice distribution division. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with operational finance, offering a dynamic opportunity to influence business decisions through accurate financial insights. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with sales and operations teams to ensure effective financial management and reporting. Responsibilities: • Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. • Oversee payroll operations, including union payroll compliance and processing. • Conduct general accounting tasks such as reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining financial records. • Develop and maintain forecasts to support business planning and decision-making. • Lead budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial strategy. • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards in all accounting practices. • Analyze production costs and sales data to provide actionable insights for operational improvements. • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to support strategic financial initiatives. • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. • Prepare detailed financial reports and communicate findings to senior leadership. What we offer: • Salary range - $135-150k pending experience • Medical, dental, and vision Insurance • Hospital and Critical Illness Care plans • Life Insurance (Company Paid) • 401K match and Profit-Sharing • Paid Time off (Vacation & Sick time) • Paid Holidays • Employee Discounts Requirements •Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred Prior experience within public accounting Proven experience in a controllership or senior accounting role, preferably within the foodservice or distribution industry. • Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and payroll operations, including union payroll. • Expertise in general accounting practices, forecasting, and budgeting. • Familiarity with GAAP standards and their application in financial reporting. • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
