Controller
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Controller to lead and direct all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management. The role involves overseeing construction-specific financials such as job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, subcontractor compliance, change orders, and accruals. You will be responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Additionally, you will manage internal controls, financial policies, and compliance requirements, mentor and grow the accounting team in line with our culture and values, support strategic initiatives including new market entries, acquisitions, and systems upgrades, and implement and optimize ERP/accounting systems to handle expansion.
Responsibilities
Direct all accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.Oversee construction-specific financials: job costing, WIP schedules, subcontractor compliance, change orders, and accruals.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements.Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.Manage internal controls, financial policies, and compliance requirements.Mentor and grow the accounting team in line with company culture and values.Support strategic initiatives including new markets, acquisitions, and systems upgrades.Implement and optimize ERP/accounting systems to handle expansion.Essential Skills
Accounting and Finance expertise.Job costing experience, particularly in construction or related fields.Proficiency with Sage software.Strong financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting skills.Experience with month-end processes and general ledger management.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.CPA strongly preferred.10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience with leadership responsibility.Strong experience in construction accounting, including WIP and job cost.Proven ability to lead and develop accounting teams in mid to large general contractors.Experience in scaling systems and processes to support significant growth.High integrity, detail orientation, and excellent communication skills.Job Type & Location

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
