We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controller to manage and oversee financial, operational, and statistical reporting for our division. This role will serve as a key advisor to the Division General Manager on financial matters, including customer pricing decisions, operating scenarios, and cost-cutting measures. The Controller will ensure all financial decisions are aligned with corporate directives.
ResponsibilitiesCompile, review, and submit financial and statistical reports as requested by Division Management and Corporate.Prepare monthly pricing projections and other pricing analyses for the division.Oversee the closing of various accounting cycles for the division.Meet periodically with department managers to review financial reports, document budget variances, and ensure accurate revenue and cost recording.Attend required safety meetings and other classes.Prepare, review, and approve check requests, vouchers, and invoices.Supervise accounting staff, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in adherence to company accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.Ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting, including sales tax, excise tax, property tax, business licenses, and permits.Plan, perform, and direct the preparation of the annual divisional budget.Work on reconciliation of intercompany accounts and comply with Corporate Accounting instructions.Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and post monthly journal entries.Analyze financial reports for errors and variances, taking corrective actions as needed.Generate financial reports using integrated systems.Research and resolve outstanding checks.Assist in year-end financial audit preparations.Perform or oversee payroll functions and prepare payroll journal entries.Oversee accounts receivable collections and prepare analysis of allowance for doubtful accounts.Oversee maintenance of the Vehicle Maintenance System (VMS) for division operations.Process divisional credit card transactions and review periodic reports for accuracy.Assist in general hire functions and resolution of computer system issues.Oversee preparation of weekly yield reports and ensure accuracy.Submit time-off requests for approval and notify relevant parties of extended leave.Perform various banking system functions and reviews.Interact with others professionally and ethically.Follow department and company procedures.Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.Perform other duties as assigned to ensure effective business operations.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in business with a concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred.Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, with a preference for both public and private sectors.Advanced supervisory experience.High proficiency in financial and numeric data management.Advanced skills in Excel and MS Word.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong work ethic and willingness to meet deadlines.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with general ledger management and reconciliation.Work EnvironmentThe role involves a professional office environment with minimal travel requirements, less than 5%. The position requires regular attendance and punctuality to ensure the smooth operation of the company. Employees are expected to interact in a professional and ethical manner, following company procedures.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
