Job Description
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing all financial functions, including job costing, WIP reporting, budgeting, compliance, and team management. You will report directly to ownership and collaborate closely with project management to ensure the financial operations run smoothly.
TOP “MUST HAVE” REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years of progressive Project Accounting experienceA.E.C Industry Experience w/ focus on civil projectsExpertise in job cost accounting, WIP, and percentage of completion methods.Thorough understanding of GAAP principlesExperience managing 15+ active projects with budgets up to $40 millionAdvanced MS Excel (Pivots & Vlookups)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field (CPA is a plus).Experience managing 10+ direct reportsExperience managing teams cross-functional teamsExperience with industry specific softwareExperience utilizing the full Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Sharepoint, Onenote, Teams, etc.ResponsibilitiesManage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support management decision-making.Oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts and monitor cash flow.Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate project cost accounting and reporting.Develop and implement internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets.Prepare audit work papers and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.Mentor and train accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.Perform financial analysis and reporting as requested by senior management.Work EnvironmentThe position is onsite 5 days a week in Valencia, CA.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $175000.00/yr.
Bonuses: Eligible for performance-based bonuses ( june pay out and assessment)
