Job Title: ControllerJob Description As a Controller, you will lead and oversee all financial operations and reporting for the organization. This role involves managing accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial closes, and delivering financial insights to the Senior Leadership Team. You will also be responsible for team leadership, strategic financial planning, treasury and risk management, business performance analytics, and maintaining compliance with external relationships. Responsibilities + Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax, and fixed assets. + Ensure accurate and timely month-, quarter-, and year-end closes. + Deliver monthly P&L reviews covering revenue trends, gross margin, EBITDA, and CAPEX by the 12th workday. + Summarize key insights and coordinate follow-ups with department heads. + Present monthly financials to the Senior Leadership Team. + Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team. + Establish clear performance goals and foster a collaborative, accountable culture. + Serve as a strategic partner to the Senior Leadership Team. + Lead the annual budgeting process and support long-term financial planning. + Oversee day-to-day treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and debt compliance. + Maintain strong banking relationships and monitor financial risk. + Collaborate with operations and sales to develop and track KPIs. + Utilize data-driven insights for informed business decisions. + Oversee preparation for the annual financial review with external accounting firms. + Ensure timely and accurate sales and use tax filings. + Manage purchasing processes and internal controls. + Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the President. Essential Skills + 7 - 10+ years of progressive experience with recent managerial experience in accounting/finance. + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. + Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to multi-task, maintain organization, and operate in a fluid and fast-paced environment. + Critical thinking and sound reasoning skills. + Attention to detail. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is helpful but not required. Work Environment The position is onsite with the client in Newton. The company has an in-office mentality but offers flexibility to work remotely for special reasons, though not on a regular basis. The role includes managing a team of three in accounting, and there is a long-term growth plan for both the company and the individual.
