As a Control Systems Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and refining the software that powers our machines—ensuring they deliver the right features and performance for every challenge. What You Will Do:

Integrate and develop machine controls into embedded softwareEnsure team is following the software development process including using the configuration management systems and proving required software documentationRefine or develop software requirements for the control systemsWork with the verification team to ensure proper test plans are in placeAnalyze field data to diagnose software and field issues

What You Will Have:

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.Embedded Systems: Knowledge of embedded systems and their applications; ability to develop embedded systems with varying levels of complexity to control the operations of the machine it is embedded within.Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.

Top candidates will have:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer scienceTypically, have 2+ years’ experience in software developmentExperience architecting modular software featuresExperience with C and AUTOSARExperience with version control systemExperience with CAN Datalink tools (CANape and CANanalyzer)

Additional Information

The location for this position is Mossville, IL and is onsite Monday to Friday.Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.

Summary Pay Range:

$97,530.00 - $146,290.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
