Control Manager for Marketing and Communications - Vice President

The Controls Organization, in collaboration with the business, oversees the CIB's risk and control environment, ensuring robust governance and risk management systems.


As a Control Manager Vice President within the Commercial & Investment Bank, you will be responsible for oversight and governance of the CIB Marketing and CIB Communications control environment. You will deliver an enterprise-wide framework to manage control-related processes, develop and manage the end-to-end process for identification and remediation of control issues, and monitor the effectiveness of control implementation. This role requires collaboration with functional leads to identify risks and perform ongoing monitoring of the operational risk and control environment.

Job Responsibilities:

Assess operational risks for CIB Marketing and CIB Communications and translate into business impact.Design operational controls in partnership with business executives, including metrics and validation.Provide control-related subject matter expertise to CIB Marketing and CIB Communications.Assess the effectiveness of governance relative to programs and business processes.Lead and coordinate end-to-end audit, compliance, and regulatory exams with business leads.Manage actions and remediation of issues, including close out of Regulatory/Audit issues and supporting KEYs submissions.Review regulatory change, industry patterns, and external events to proactively identify operational risks.Develop and maintain operational risk policies and procedures.Monitor the effectiveness of control implementation and provide ongoing reporting.Collaborate with functional leads to ensure alignment with business objectives and risk appetite.Communicate control-related updates and findings to regulators, executives, and key partners.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.7 years of financial services experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance.Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts, including Risk & Control Self-Assessment.Experience driving strategic regulatory initiatives to address key control requirements.Strong verbal, written, and technical communication skills; strong presentation skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities:

Experience working in an information technology area/environment (e.g., IT Auditing, Programming Controls, Data Management and Governance).Strong understanding of Data and Analytics.Excellent influence skills for engaging stakeholders and driving organizational change.Competence in quantitative reporting for data governance and control reporting.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
