Control Management Senior Associate

Join our Central Control Management team as a Control Management Associate, where you will play a pivotal role in managing operational and enterprise risks within the Corporate Centers. Collaborate with key stakeholders to refine control processes and contribute to strategic initiatives, ensuring robust risk management practices. As a Control Management Senior Associate within the Control Management team, you will cultivate a proactive risk and control culture by leveraging proven evaluation strategies and effective change management protocols. You will gain a deep understanding of JPMC’s risk and control framework to challenge and enhance existing processes. Collaborate with team members, location, and business control managers to conduct data-promoted control reviews and deep dives into emerging risk areas. Partner with lines of business and functional control manager teams to identify high-risk areas and implement data-promoted solutions that provide valuable analysis and influence key decision-making.

Job responsibilities:

Cultivate a proactive risk and control culture by leveraging proven evaluation strategies and effective change management protocols.Gain a deep understanding of JPMC’s risk and control framework to challenge and enhance existing processes.Collaborate with team members, location, and business control managers to conduct data-driven control reviews and deep dives into emerging risk areas.Partner with lines of business and functional control manager teams to identify high-risk areas and implement data-driven solutions that provide valuable analysis and influence key decision-making.Regularly update management on the control environment, including preparing control reporting materials for Corporate Centers and ad hoc reports as needed.Manage and participate in multiple project work-streams and initiatives focused on risk and controls, such as awareness programs, risk expos, and training sessions.Perform data analysis and develop a robust MIS platform and program, driving initiatives to enhance controls.Apply critical thinking skills to perform advanced analytics and automation, solving complex business problems and extracting meaningful insights.Work independently and collaboratively within the team to achieve desired outcomes in analytical and automation projects.Contribute to the organization’s continuous learning mindset by introducing new ideas and perspectives that challenge the group’s thinking.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Bachelor’s degree required.Minimum of 5 years of experienceKnowledge of control and risk management concepts, with the ability to design, create, and evaluate reviews in collaboration with business partners.Proficient in data analytics for analyzing large datasets to derive insights and metrics that can be translated into actionable strategies.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and working knowledge of Alteryx and/or Tableau.Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure, and a self-starter who takes ownership and drives change through innovation.Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities; able to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.Strong time management and multitasking skills.Ability to build relationships and leverage subject matter expertise to drive conversations and influence decisions with Business and Technology areas.Exhibits sound judgment, maturity, and composure to recognize risks and escalate them as needed.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Previous experience in Controls, Operations, or Risk Management is beneficial.Knowledge of retail or wholesale banking processes, products, regulations, and risk.Certification in multiple tools such as Alteryx, UiPath, Tableau, and Python is an advantage.Basic understanding of AI/ML is preferred.Project management experience is preferred.
