The Subcontract Specialist will manage subcontracted work packages with suppliers for the Logistical Vehicle Modernization (LVM) program. This includes monitoring supplier performance, ensuring deliverables are met, and coordinating between suppliers and the customer. The role is crucial in maintaining efficient flow of materials and services across the supply chain, supporting Subcontract Managers and Project Managers in their interactions with suppliers, and ensuring alignment with project timelines, cost objectives, and quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesManage assigned modules by region and oversee 1–2 suppliers.Follow up on specific technical and contractual requirements.Collaborate with engineers on technical drawings and specifications.Track deliverables, schedules, and resolve roadblocks with suppliers.Work closely with the program team to monitor daily activities and maintain action logs.Provide regular updates to suppliers and internal stakeholders.Monitor performance metrics and governance dashboards.Participate in design reviews and deliverable validation.Ensure compliance with negotiated contract terms.Use internal software (SharePoint) and MS Office tools proficiently.Manage heavy workloads with multiple deliverables per supplier.Prepare and review ILS documents, maintenance plans, and reports.Compile information for deliverable packages, including instruction manuals for end customers.Assist in supplier support, procurement coordination, and project management.Maintain accurate records of supplier interactions, contracts, and delivery timelines.Identify opportunities to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.Monitor and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance.Essential Skills3-5+ years experience in program management with supplier interaction.Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel – pivot table, VLOOKUP).Fluency in English.Experience in delivering presentations.Additional Skills & QualificationsPost-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge.Proven working experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.Attention to detail and experience in data collection and analysis.Strong communication skills and detail-oriented.Ability to work in a complex matrix organization.Proficiency in French is an asset.Eligible to meet export control regulations, including Canadian Controlled Goods Program.Work EnvironmentThe team consists of three people and offers a supportive training environment, with general training lasting one week and a three-month period to work autonomously. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8-5pm, with flexibility required for international collaboration. One day in the office is mandatory per week, with additional days as needed. The position requires flexibility to accommodate team and supplier needs across different time zones.
