Job Description

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing accounts payable tasks. Your role will involve data entry, processing checks for vendors, matching invoices to purchase orders where applicable, and reconciling processed work by verifying entries. You will also ensure accurate charging of expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice and expense reports, as well as pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities and resolving discrepancies. Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company requirements are crucial aspects of this position.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and process accounts payable tasks.Conduct data entry for accounts payable.Process checks for vendors.Match and receive invoices to purchase orders where applicable.Reconcile processed work by verifying entries.Charge expenses accurately to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice and expense reports.Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving discrepancies.Analyze and accurately code invoices.Perform vendor statement reconciliation.Maintain files as per S.O.X. and company requirements.Protect the organization's value by keeping information confidential.Perform other accounting tasks as assigned.Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.Essential Skills5 years of Accounts Payable Experience.Proficiency in accounts payable, invoice processing, and purchase orders.Strong reconciliation and three-way matching skills.Heavy data entry experience, processing 100-200 invoices per week.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.Experience with MS Office.Experience with Spectrum V14 is a big plus.Materials management and construction experience highly preferred.Experience with Power BI.Concur expense reporting.Business license renewals experience.Vendor statement reconciliation.Work Environment

The role is set within a cubicle office environment, working alongside a team of six in accounting, consisting of two AP Associates, two payroll associates, a Senior Accountant, and an Accounting Manager. You will be required to work onsite Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The organization is one of the largest electrical contractors in the Pacific Northwest, supporting major projects in the area including data centers, semiconductor facilities, and various higher education and healthcare institutions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
