PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Lead serves as a strategic change agent responsible for driving transformational improvements across manufacturing, supply chain, and front-office processes. This role goes beyond traditional Lean event execution—focusing on optimizing end-to-end value streams, building scalable systems, and enabling enterprise growth. The CI Lead partners closely with senior leadership to identify, prioritize, and deliver high‑impact initiatives that enhance operational performance, reduce cost and waste, accelerate decision-making, and elevate the customer experience. A core responsibility of this role is building and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
**Leadership & Strategy:**
+ Develop, maintain, and execute the site-level CI roadmap and project pipeline.
+ Identify, assess, and lead large, cross-functional improvement opportunities.
+ Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on operational excellence priorities and decision-making.
+ Communicate CI program progress, results, and business impact through executive-level reporting.
**Continuous Improvement Execution:**
+ Schedule, lead, and facilitate Kaizen events and CI initiatives across the organization.
+ Provide hands-on leadership in Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologies.
+ Utilize Lean tools, best practices, and structured problem-solving techniques to drive sustainable improvements.
+ Oversee continuous project activity, data collection, and operational metrics.
+ Ensure improvements are sustained and integrated into daily process ownership.
**Training & Culture Development:**
+ Train and coach employees at all levels on Lean principles, CI methodologies, and structured problem-solving.
+ Develop internal capability by mentoring process owners and non-process owners through Lean principles.
+ Support employee development in the application of Lean tools.
+ Foster a culture committed to operational excellence, waste elimination, and ongoing improvement.
**Performance Tracking and Reporting:**
+ Track savings, performance improvements, and CI-driven financial and operational impacts.
+ Monitor and sustain gains achieved from Lean initiatives, including reductions in space, time, materials, and cost.
+ Partner with leadership to improve data accuracy and collection processes across the business.
**Cross Functional Collaboration:**
+ Work closely with all internal functional areas, especially Operations, and collaborate regularly with IDEX business units and peer organizations.
+ Participate in CI activities, cross-training, and internal knowledge sharing.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Collect and report on CI metrics.
+ Apply 5S standards to maintain an organized work environment.
+ Perform all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in in a technical field, or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
+ 5+ years of experience in Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence roles.
+ Strong manufacturing experience required.
+ Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable results.
+ Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification.
+ Strong Lean methodology and problem-solving background.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
+ Exceptional communication, facilitation, and influence skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
+ Occasional walking, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
+ Occasional overtime, weekend work, or travel.
+ Work environment ranges from quiet office settings to manufacturing setting with moderate noise levels.
