Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. located in Gaylord, Minnesota is Minnesota's Healthy Heartland! Gaylord is located in south central Minnesota about an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord is the "Hub of Sibley County." Our location produces liquid egg, hardcook egg, and precooked egg such as scrambled, patties and omelets.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Michael Foods Continuous Improvement Team is offering an exciting opportunity to work as a Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer Intern. In this position you will be involved in productivity analysis and implementation of process improvement activities at Michael Foods, Inc. This position should also build capability and provide a pipeline of future talent for Michael Foods.
*This internship is located onsite at the Michael Foods facility in Gaylord, MN*
JOB ACTIVIES:
Be part of the plant continuous improvement team; assist in process improvement projects alongside CI Engineer. The CI Engineering Intern will learn the practical application of:
Equipment performance, downtime, and failure mode data analysisDocumenting current-state processes and performing loss analysis to identify improvement opportunitiesCommunicating cross-functionally to support teams in solving process-related challengesPreparing and delivering presentations and assisting with formal training programs to build capability in frontline teamsOrganizing and facilitating team meetings to drive continuous improvement initiatives and sustain resultsQualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.Coursework or basic understanding of Lean, Six Sigma (e.g., DMAIC), and CI methodologies.Understand process flow diagramProficiency with Excel and basic data visualization; Tableau a plus.Strong analytical/problem-solving skills; comfortable on the plant floor.Excellent communication and teamwork; ability to influence others
